What is dentistry?
Dentistry is the art of transforming a person’s smile and giving people the education and ability to be knowledgeable and proactive about their oral health.
What is a dentist?
A dentist, like Dr. Ron Sherman, is a specialist who works to diagnose, treat, and prevent oral health problems. Dr. Sherman has completed at least eight years of schooling, and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. Choosing the right dentist for you is an important decision. Knowing how long a dentist has been in dentistry, reading their reviews, and learning about their care philosophy can all help you get to know your oral healthcare provider better. Dr. Sherman is passionate about providing the very best dentistry possible. He has more than 30 years of experience in offering treatments that improve his patients’ health and increase their confidence.
Why is visiting First Impressions Dental Care so important?
Visiting our Issaquah dental office regularly will not only help keep your teeth and mouth healthy, but will also help keep the rest of your body healthy. Dental care is important because oral health can affect
our entire overall health. If our oral health is good, the rest of our body can fall in line.

amount of bacteria in your mouth that causes bad breath
Gives you a more attractive smile and increases your self-confidence
Helps keep teeth looking bright by preventing them from becoming stained by food, drinks, and
Strengthens your teeth so that you can enjoy healthy, beautiful smiles for the rest of your life!
How can I maintain my oral health between visits to First Impressions Dental
We recommend brushing, flossing, and using a water flosser to keep your mouth as healthy as possible. If Dr. Sherman has identified a problem, complete the recommended treatment before issues progress.
If I have braces, do I still need dental checkups every six months?
Braces collect bacteria and make it more difficult to brush and floss. Dental visits are very important to maintain hygiene and make sure cavities do not develop during your orthodontic treatment.
What’s involved in my first visit?
During your first visit to First Impressions Dental Care, you will receive an exam, X-rays, and cleaning, as well as a meeting with our treatment coordinator if treatment is necessary. From the moment you walk in to when you leave, you come first. We will never lecture you or guilt you into dental work. We will work to find the best options that fit you.
