FAQ by Our Issaquah DDS

Issaquah DDS FAQOur Issaquah DDS and his team are happy to answer any of your questions and concerns. At First Impressions Dental Care the patient always comes first.

1. What is important to you, the patient?

At FIDC, we know you will be pleasantly surprised at how different we are from the average dental team. As all dental offices do, we also will take care of your treatment 'necessities'. However, you will find our team making your specific dental concerns and interests a priority. It is very important to us to know what is important to you. That is why we take the time to sit down with each new patient and privately discuss their dental concerns, goals and interests. By doing this, we gain a clear picture of our patients' desires and begin our quest in satisfying them all.

2. Why is your child's oral health care important to us?

The majority of our team consists of parents, Dr. Sherman included. That is why you will always feel a genuine concern for your child's oral health and overall happiness with their experiences in our office. We are willing to do whatever it takes to have them leave our practice with smiles on their faces. Maybe it's because we have children of our own, maybe it's not. But you can rest assured that your children are the highlight of our day and we will always give them the same amount of love and patience that we do our own. They deserve it.

3. What does customer service mean to you?

Well, to us, it means everything. We at FIDC strive to be the very best in our field. This quest to impress can be found in everything that we do; from our helpful administrative team tending to your needs via phone, to our hygienists making sure that every one of your clinical questions and concerns are answered to your satisfaction. You will find our assistants always eager to make you comfortable and Dr. Sherman always willing to visit you privately to discuss anything and everything. If you are a new patient looking for your new dental home, we invite you to come visit us. You'll be hooked after ten minutes with any one of our team members.

4. How can we alter our schedule to convenience yours?

At FIDC, we realize how busy life can be. We have careers, families and responsibilities that are constantly being juggled. Knowing this, we make our promise to you, our patient, to respect your time constraints and do whatever we can to accommodate your schedule. This is why we offer dental care five days a week and see patients from 7 am to 5 pm. We also offer same day emergency care for any patient that needs to be seen.

5. Do you have any questions related to your insurance benefits?

Leave all of these questions to our administrative team to answer. We only ask that you give us a few small details regarding your insurance policy and we take it from there. We research the specifics of your individual policy prior to ever meeting you. We will also customize a financial estimate for you based on Dr. Sherman's findings. You will leave our office well-informed, with all of your financial questions answered.

6. Is there anything we can do to make you more comfortable?

If there is, we'd like to know. Our dental assistants and hygienists cater to your every need. If it's comfort and warmth you want, we have blankets and pillows. If you don't like the sounds of dentistry, we have personal CD's to offer you. If you like movies, we've got you covered with our video goggles. Worried about your children in the waiting room? Don't be -- we have an area here designated for their comfort, too. Anything you need, we have. Your comfort is of the utmost importance to us.

7. Have all treatment options been explained to you?

During your initial examination with Dr. Sherman, all of your personal dental options will be reviewed for you. Dr. Sherman will discuss with you dental priorities, including long and short-term dental goals. During your visit with Dr. Sherman, feel free to ask any questions and express any concerns you might have for yourself or your family. Remember, this is your time with Dr. Sherman and he is here to help you meet your needs, goals and desires.

8. Do you need any more personal time from the doctor?

If you do, all you have to do is ask. Dr. Sherman schedules after-hour consultations routinely, giving his patients all the private time with him they need. Often, prior to making dental decisions, patients will request that their spouse be present for their treatment consultations. We encourage this and have found that when we consult with families together, the decision-making process is simplified. So, if at any time you would like additional time to discuss your treatment, please know that Dr. Sherman will accommodate you.

9. Have you put off seeing a dentist because you feel guilty about 'how long it has been', or you don't want to feel 'lectured'?

We are not interested in who you were yesterday, but rather who you may become tomorrow. So, if you haven't cared, or haven't flossed in "forever," it's OK - we won't make you feel bad. We will help you improve your oral health from this day forward. We will go at 'your pace'. You tell us what you want done, or what you don't want done. We are here to serve you. We offer a 'fresh perspective and a new start'.

10. Why is it that First Impressions Dental Care of Issaquah is known throughout our community to set the standard for where dentistry is today?

Because we care about every single patient's happiness. If we have 99 happy patients and one unhappy patient, our team focuses on what we need to do to have 100% of patients who love us. We discuss and treat each patient individually. It is our responsibility to please you.
